Warranty & Maintenance

Warranty

At By Bjorn, we like to keep things clear and straightforward. We stand behind the quality of our Lava Paint. If there is a demonstrable product or manufacturing defect, we will work with you to find a suitable solution.

What is covered?
This includes defects in the product itself, such as an unexpected reaction in the material that is not caused by the surface, application method or conditions during application.

What is not covered?
Lava Paint is easy to apply yourself, but the final result depends on several factors, including surface preparation and condition, application technique, dilution, temperature, moisture and the tools used.

For this reason, we cannot provide a warranty for issues caused by an incorrectly prepared or unstable surface, moisture problems, incorrect application, damage after application or the use of unsuitable cleaning products.

The characteristic cloudy effect and texture of Lava Paint are created by hand. Natural variations in texture and appearance are part of the character of the product and are therefore not considered product defects.

Colour and Batch Differences

For one continuous surface, we recommend ordering enough Lava Paint at once. Slight colour variations between different production batches may occur.

Please also keep in mind that colours displayed on a screen or colour sample may appear different on the finished surface due to lighting, the underlying surface and the surrounding interior.

Experiencing a Problem?
We’re happy to help. Please contact us at info@bybjorn.nl and include your order number, the product batch number and clear photos of the surface whenever possible. This helps us assess the situation properly.

If there is a genuine product or manufacturing defect, we’ll work with you to find a suitable solution.

How to Maintain Lava Paint

Lava Paint is designed to stay beautiful for a long time. The best way to maintain the surface depends on whether or not you have finished it with By Bjorn Coating.

Lava Paint Without Coating
A surface finished with Lava Paint alone should be treated with care. Remove dust with a soft, dry cloth or duster. Light marks can be carefully cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth.

Avoid vigorous rubbing or scrubbing, as this may affect the texture or appearance of the finish.

Never use aggressive or abrasive cleaning products, chlorine, cleaning vinegar or scouring pads.

Lava Paint With By Bjorn Coating
Want a surface that’s easier to maintain? We recommend finishing Lava Paint with By Bjorn Coating.

This is particularly useful for surfaces that are more likely to get dirty or require regular cleaning, such as in kitchens, bathrooms and toilets. The coating provides additional protection and makes the surface easier to clean.

A coated surface can be wiped clean with a soft cloth and a mild cleaning product. Avoid aggressive or abrasive cleaning products, even on coated surfaces.

Damage or Stains?

One of the advantages of Lava Paint is that minor damage can often be repaired locally. However, keep in mind that a repaired area may remain slightly visible due to differences in texture, layer thickness or the age of the existing finish.

If the surface has been finished with By Bjorn Coating, both the Lava Paint and the protective coating need to be taken into account when carrying out a repair.

Not sure what to do? Send us a photo and we’ll be happy to advise you on the best solution.

Keep Your Lava Paint Looking Beautiful
Avoid prolonged contact with moisture and remove stains as soon as possible. Always use a soft cloth for cleaning and avoid abrasive materials.

For surfaces that are used more intensively or require regular cleaning, we recommend By Bjorn Coating for additional protection and easier maintenance.
